Free Clothes & Basic Household Items

We are committed to providing clothes in good condition for adults and children as well as basic household items such as bedding and towels.

If You Need Assistance –

Please stop by our nearest location during open hours, at least 1/2 hour before we close so you’ll have time to look through items. We ask that you bring a piece of mail with your address. Each household may come for clothing once per month.

If you are also getting food, simply pull up by the front door (Mooresville) or near the white garage door (Martinsville) and a volunteer will be out to assist you and then you can park while you check our clothing area. If you’d like to park first, please park in the lot across the street and come to our front door (Mooresville) or park in the lot and come to the Clothing Door by the flagpole (Martinsville).

Clients can receive three (3) outfits per person in the household each month. Clothing donations are rotated to provide in-season options.

We provide the following clothing items:

Adults: Gently used work clothing and casual attire, jeans, pants, shirts, hoodies, shoes, and coats/jackets for women and men. Most Needed: men’s clothing and work clothing (men’s jeans, boots, black or khaki pants for retail/restaurant jobs, scrubs, non-slip black shoes, tennis shoes)

Children: Jeans, shirts and hoodies, infant and toddler attire, shoes, coats for all sizes. Most Needed: school clothing for kids and teens

Blankets, Sheets & Towels: We always try to keep a supply of these important items for our clients. Most Needed: bed-sized blankets/comforters, sheet sets labeled with size

Other Donations: We do keep a small supply of dishes, utensils, and pans for those moving out of shelter situations or who have experienced a fire or other change-of-house situation. Please be sure these are in good condition. We also accept new gifts/toys for Christmas for kids and teens.

Donation Guidelines: Please donate items for the current or upcoming season. We do not have space to keep donations of winter items received in summer or vice versa.  Please make sure items are gently used, with no stains, tears, broken zippers or missing buttons.

Donation Dropoff: Please bring donations during open hours. Items left out to weather and bugs will be discarded. Bring items to the white garage door in the alley north of the building (Mooresville) or to the Clothing/Donations door near the flagpole (Martinsville). Please let us know if you would like a donation receipt.
